Very in-depth course with good resources to allow you to carry out an Access Audit.
In-person access auditing course
In-person access auditing course
The training is generally delivered as an in-house course, meaning we come to you. All you need to provide is a suitable room, a surface to display projections and hopefully a projector – itself, but we can bring one if required. You also need to supply the delegates of course, and we do the rest.
During the course we look at the requirements of user groups and the problems presented by some buildings. We explore what an Access Audit and Design Appraisal entail, we examine the relevant legislation and we conduct a practical session. Throughout the course there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss any access-related issues.
A 180-page training manual is distributed to all delegates and includes bonus chapters with a resource list and a guide to accessibility terminology and phrases.
This course is very similar to our online course but with the added benefit of a practical session and a greater opportunity to have discussions as we go along.
Graham, an initially reluctant delegate on one course said:
“Do not be blinkered like myself. I found so much more to learn and was able to develop my own skills and more importantly address my lack of understanding of disability. What the course taught me is how much planning a disabled person has to undertake just to go to the shops I can’t believe it can take them so much more time to complete tasks which I had always considered straightforward. The course has totally changed my mindset 100 per cent (thank you!) because I will look at things differently for others.”
Below is a table showing the elements of the in-person training compared to the on-line course.

Access auditor training comparison between in-person training and online.
* The training room must be an appropriate suitable size for the number of delegates. It should have a suitable screen for a projector to project on to. It is preferable if you can provide a projector, but we can bring ours if required. We will require notification at time the of booking.
† The training manual is a pdf document of approximately 180 pages. It contains all the information on the screen including diagrams but not photographs.
We believe that the work we do and the clients we work for, say more about us than we could ever convey, so feel free to take a look at our case studies…
