Online Access and Inclusion Training

About Access has been delivering Access and Inclusion Training for nearly 20 years. In 2020, our access training consultant developed a system which allows the Access and Inclusion Training course to be taken online. Following numerous successes in Northern Ireland, the Access and Inclusion Training is now available in England, Scotland and Wales.

Access & Inclusion Training Course

The Access & Inclusion Training course is broken down into manageable sections, with the course totalling 11 hours. You will have continuous access to the training course throughout the duration, to revisit sections or topics of your choosing. You will also be provided with a 180-page training manual which is yours to download and keep.

Personalised Support

We are here to support you through the duration of your Access & Inclusion training. As part of your online course, you will also be given access to a dedicated and qualified access consultant for 1-2-1 virtual meetings. These meetings are designed to help support your learning and as an opportunity to ask questions tailored to your field.

Online Access Audit Training

There are two courses available, one for Northern Ireland and the other for England, Scotland and Wales. The difference between the two is that Northern Ireland has the DDA with England Scotland and Wales having the Equality Act There is also a slight difference in the Building Regulations and these factors are highlighted throughout the training.

Below is a table showing the differences between the in-person and the on-line training.

The training is suitable for anyone who has an interest in understanding the built environment and helping to make it as accessible as possible. You do not need to have a background in construction or equalities to undertake the course.

The course will give you the basics to start carrying out Access Audits of existing buildings or design reviews of proposed buildings or extensions.
Throughout the course there is the opportunity to get in touch and ask questions along with the two on-line sessions. The meetings are a question and answer session – your opportunity to ask me questions about the course or maybe about a project you are working on.

Payment is either by the online portal on the Podia website at https://ianstreets.podia.com/ or by contacting us for an invoice. There are discounts available for multiple users.

Zoom meetingsWe allow for 2 two Zoom meetings. One mid-way through the training at a point in the training to suit you. The second once you have completed the training. These Zoom meetings are an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss any points. The timings of the meetings are to be mutually agreed.

* The training room must be an appropriate suitable size for the number of delegates. It should have a suitable screen for a projector to project on to. It is preferable if you can provide a projector, but we can bring ours if required. We will require notification at time the of booking.

† The training manual is a pdf document of approximately 180 pages. It contains all the information on the screen including diagrams but not photographs.
